About us:

Alliance Tool was formed in 1983 by Jim Tomson.  In twelve years, Alliance Tool outgrew their previous facility.  With such a growth, the only way to accommodate their growing customer list was to expand.  In 1996 Alliance Tool moved to their current location with almost double the square footage as their previous building.  In the last twenty-two years Alliance Tool has evolved from a simple machine shop containing less then ten manual machines to eight CNC machining centers and a variety of manual machines to fit almost any of our customer needs.
Providing more then ten machinist positions in the Fort Wayne Indiana area, Alliance Tool can provide on time short production and medium production runs of various milled and lathed parts.  Alliance Tool also utilizes a second shift to increase our production run time per day.
Working with our customers has always been our number one priority.  From lending a hand in a customers engineering department to high priority production runs. These situations are not uncommon at Alliance Tool.

About Jim Tomson:

Jim Tomson graduated from Fort Wayne’s South Side High School in 1961.  He then went on to work at General Electric in 1962 in Fort Wayne Indiana.  During this time, he enrolled in General Electric's apprentice program from which he graduated from in 1966.
In 1966 Jim was drafted into the Armies 101st airborne division to serve in Vietnam, where he served from 1966 to 1968.  After his time served, he returned to Indiana and attended Purdue University in West Lafeyette, Indiana.  After completing his degree from Purdue in Mechanical Engineering in 1973, Jim returned to his home town of Fort Wayne to begin a career at Magnavox and General Electric.  After working for Magnavox and General Electric for the latter part of the 1970's, Jim furthered his engineering merits by completing his professional degree in mechanical engineering in the state of Indiana in 1979, giving him the title of P.E., a title worthy of his engineering prowess.
In 1983 Jim's dream of forming his own business came true when he opened Alliance Tool and Equipment.  To this day, twenty-two years later, Jim's dream is still going strong.  Determination and strong skills in Mechanical Engineering has kept Alliance Tool in the front of the machining industry to this day.
